About The Ancient Glow

Welcome to The Ancient Glow.

The Ancient Glow was born from a simple question:

How did the women admired throughout history care for their beauty long before
modern skincare existed?

Long before laboratories, complicated routines, and shelves filled with beauty products, women turned to the natural world. Across Ancient Egypt, India, Africa, the Mediterranean, Japan, and the Celtic lands, beauty rituals were created using ingredients that grew in gardens, fields, forests, and local markets. Honey, milk, botanical oils, herbs, flowers, clays, fruits, grains, and medicinal plants became part of everyday self-care, passed from one generation to the next.

History remembers legendary women such as Cleopatra, whose beauty rituals are famously associated with ingredients like milk, honey, botanical oils, and aromatic herbs. Across Greek mythology, Aphrodite became a symbol of beauty and femininity. In India, botanical traditions developed over thousands of years. African communities treasured nourishing plant
oils and butters. Mediterranean cultures embraced olive oil and fragrant herbs, while Celtic traditions preserved generations of herbal knowledge.


Although these cultures were separated by geography, language, and time, they shared something remarkable: a deep respect for nature and an understanding that beauty was never separate from wellbeing.

That question stayed with our founder, Ana-Maria Ciubota.


With an academic background in Biology and a Master's degree in Horticulture, she spent
years studying plants, botanical ingredients, ancient civilizations, and beauty traditions from
different cultures. She became fascinated not only by what women used, but by why the same
ingredients appeared again and again throughout history.

The more she researched, the clearer it became that many of today's most recognised natural skincare ingredients have roots stretching back centuries. They weren't discovered by modern marketing—they were valued by generations of women who observed nature, learned through experience, and shared that knowledge with those who came after them.

That inspiration became The Ancient Glow.

Our mission is to preserve and share timeless beauty wisdom by bringing together historical inspiration, botanical knowledge, and practical education for modern women. We believe beauty should be understood, not complicated, and that learning about natural ingredients empowers women to make informed choices that suit their own lifestyles and preferences.
